World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved after the reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.
You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial but it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player continuously enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP. Cases.gg rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go back to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
